The new Karma Temple Guest House in Bodhgaya was opened in 2019. It is operated by monks of the Karma Temple it belongs to as a Temple Guest House. Suitable for short term staying visitors to BodhGaya’s Mahabodhi Temple and Bodhi Tree and other Buddhist sites in the area. We also warmly welcome anyone who would like to stay longer for retreat.
The 49 light and well-aired rooms (21 with A/C) on 5 floors are large, modern, and clean with attached bathrooms.
The restaurant on the ground floor serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a variety of vegetarian options.
The Mahabodhi Temple with the great Stupa and the Bodhi Tree is fifteen minutes on foot or a few minutes by rickshaw away.
The neighborhood is quiet with Bhutanese and Japanese temples across the street from the Karma Temple.
The guest house is 20 minutes from Gaya airport (GAY) and 40 minutes from Gaya train station. We can help arrange safe transfers from and to either of these.
The guest house is dedicated to helping practitioners and visitors to Bodhgaya staying in a safe and clean environment while they are here to practice and enjoy visiting the Buddhist pilgrimage sites of Bodhgaya. We are not a commercial hotel. If you stay with us please kindly bear in mind that the lamas and lay friends you see and interact with are doing their work as volunteers, please treat them with respect and kindness.
